Our Mission on the Water
The mission of the Collingwood Paddling Club (CPC) is simple: to positively impact our community by developing recreational and competitive paddling programming that is safe, healthy, and entirely inclusive.
Formed in 2004, the CPC is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to establishing and supporting water sports in the Collingwood area. We are incredibly proud to provide access to dragon boating, sprint canoeing and kayaking, and recreational paddling for members of all ages and skill levels.
Championing the True Sport Movement
We believe that good sport can make a great difference. The Collingwood Paddling Club is a proud member of the True Sport Movement. We actively believe in teaching respect, honesty, fair play, discipline, commitment, and effort through sport, both on and off the water. As a member of Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) and Canoe Kayak Ontario Sprint (CKO Sprint), we ensure a highly controlled, safe environment governed by national sporting standards.
The Watts Boathouse & Our Fleet
Our club compound is beautifully situated just south of the historic Collingwood Grain Terminals at the Watts Boathouse.
Over the years, we have built an incredibly diverse fleet of boats. Alongside our massive dragon boats (including a BUK generously donated to the Town of Collingwood in 2003), we feature a large number of flatwater boats. This includes C-1, C-2, and C-4 sprint canoes, K-1 and K-2 sprint kayaks, modern surfskis, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), outrigger canoes (OC-1s), and sea kayaks.
The undisputed jewel of our club’s fleet is our 80-year-old restored C-15 war canoe, a breathtaking piece of paddling history that our teams still paddle today!
